Where a Woman Can Turn Her Life Around
Program Guidelines & Information
There are certain guidelines and rules Bethany Hall clients are expected to follow. It is the client's responsibility to follow the prescribed treatment protocol, including adherence to the schedule, being on time, and participating in all activities.

The program consists of several different components and progressive phases. In the same way that an employer has to consider whether an employee who under performs on their job should continue, the staff will consider whether residents who do not consistently adhere to  the treatment program are serious about recovery. Residents are expected to put forth an effort to learn and adjust to the guidelines at Bethany Hall. New residents are given a two-week probation period to adapt to the rules and guidelines, this is known as the "adjustment period."

Probation/Adjustment Period

Upon admittance into the program there is an adjustment period for each new client. The adjustment period (a minimum of two weeks) allows the new resident to become familiar with the daily schedule and acclimate to the group living environment.

During this period the following is limited or restricted:
- Visitation
- Personal phone calls (however, business calls are permitted)

- Going out alone to appointments
- Family members can call and talk with staff during the probation period if they have questions or concerns.  Please

(This is allowed if a release has been signed giving staff permission to talk with these individuals.)   Please be aware

that due to HIPAA and other federal regulations, we will only release general information to any third party (even

  with a release)

- Communication by letter with family and friends is permitted

Discharge from the Program

The following conditions could lead to discharge from the program:

- Intoxication (alcohol or drug induced.) Information regarding local detox and shelter facilities will be made available if the resident is willing to take advantage of such services. If eligible to be considered for return to treatment, this will be reviewed after the client is no longer intoxicated.
- Bringing or having alcohol, unapproved drugs (including over-the-counter and prescription), or weapons.
- Leaving the program and/or absence without staff approval.
- Stealing or destroying property of other residents, staff or Bethany Hall.
- Verbal and/or physical threats to or intimidation of others (direct or indirect).
- Physical assault.
- Behaviors that are consistently a barrier to recovery of the individual or other residents, which the individual is unwilling to acknowledge and work to change.
- Setting fires.
- Smoking/use of nicotine products.
- Consistent failure to observe house rules and/or work on established personal goals. If this pattern is observed, the resident will be made aware of this by staff and given an opportunity to re-commit to the program and attempt to change.
